EDB’s criminal team specializes in representing clients who have problems involving the police, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP, previously known as the Department for Social Security, DSS) and Local Authority prosecutions. We cover all forms of Anti-Social Behaviour work -Criminal and Housing related. Our work also covers road traffic matters and we can cover all areas at very short notice.
The criminal team is substantial and very experienced. The Criminal Department
is led by partner John Derry. They are backed up by two other solicitors and
support staff to enable us to provide a high quality "start to finish"
service.
John Derry has been with the firm since before its transformation to EDB, and
is well known and respected in the Solihull Magistrates arena. John Derry deals
with all our Licensing Law cases, covering the complex recent changes.
Finally a word about Legal Aid. All police representation is currently free
of charge regardless of means. Legal aid may be avaliable for representation
in the Magistrates Court. There is currently no means testing there either.
