EDB’s criminal defence team specialise in representing clients under investigation for criminal offences of facing criminal proceedings. The team is led by a partner John Derry.

This experienced team is able to offer expert advice and representation on all criminal problems ranging from minor road traffic matters through to the most serious of allegations and at all levels from Police Station attendances through to Magistrates and Crown Court hearings and where necessary appeals to the Court of Appeal.

All representation in the Police Station and Crown Court is free of charge being covered by non means tested Legal Aid schemes and Legal Aid may be available for Magistrates’ Court cases subject to an interests of justice test and a means test. In all cases your eligibility for Legal Aid will be assessed and if Legal Aid is not available the team undertakes privately funded work at competitive rates or on fixed fee arrangements.
